Weekends Are Easy With The Fairmont's New Sunday Brunch
Amber and I are huge fans of the Fairmont. The service, the luxury, the staff. We love spending our time in the lounge and were excited to find that Sundays have became more fabulous with the addition of their brunch! Chef Daniel Davyduke has put together a Fairmont worthy spread full of local ingredients.
Brunch items begin at $14 and are as fun and creative as you would expect. Bring your appetite and your friends in order to try as many dishes as possible. Savoury to sweet, the Fairmont Sunday Brunch is the perfect way to reflect on the past week or jump into the next!
Sundays and Caesars are just meant for each other. As you sit down, a bar cart full of premium vodkas including chili infused spirits find you. In my mind, I’ve always hoped to load a Caesar with every garnish possible. This is where dreams become reality with blue cheese stuffed olives, candied bacon, ginger, pepperoni, and classic crisp, celery stalks.
If having oysters in the evening is magical, having them for Sunday brunch is extraordinary. Both Amber and I became quite animated when we were introduced to their mushroom toast! Fresh Gunn’s Bakery brioche, with creamy sautéed mushrooms piled high, topped with a perfect sunny side egg was all we really needed but the rest of the menu looked too good not to try. The Manitoban cassoulet was perfect with its lentils and smoked tomato sauce under a poached egg.
Brunch is the perfect balance of breakfast and lunch and so if your tastes lean more toward the latter, the tuna niçoise with its seared tuna and fingerling potatoes was a welcome addition to an already full, crisp white linen filled table top.
Another absolute brilliant treat is their G & Tea menu! Cocktails made with Gin and assorted teas! It’s so fun and amazing. May we introduce you to Mr. Grey – Bombay Sapphire Gin, rooftop honey syrup, Earl Grey Tea essence and Fever Tree Lemon Tonic. It was so good, we are going back to try the other four selections on this special drink menu.
We didn’t dare pass up the giant cinnamon bun, Chef Davyduke’s grandmother’s recipe doubled in size, served warm, perfect for sharing.
